some are dubious, some without hesitation

as for me, the choices or decisions i made, sometime appear hasty, sometime seems wrong, but in the end
i know i'll never make the wrong decisions,
simply because one cannot afford to live with regret in this short, unpredictable life
we'll just have to make the best out of everything

i just made another decision just now.
it's painful no doubt
but i know deep down that i'll never regret it.

Lunches these days have become more of a time waster that I have to go through due to the increasingly amount of work to be done. I usually grab stuff from the nearest hawker center near my office, sometimes crystal or jem will grab me something along their way back frm lunch.

Today however, I took sometime off for lunch and headed down with Sherry for a quick meal. Having eaten, she occupied herself with today's newspaper, feeding me knowledge of the current happenings in our dear world.

I took a double take upon hearing that.
" what! that who was diagnosed with leukemia a couple of months back...stanley something..?"

I can still recall that I wanted to blog about this, when I first learnt about him getting diagnosed with leukemia. I think I didn't get down to it but I guess the latest news about his passing on, kinda reminded what I wanted to write.

At a considerably young age of 48, no one can deny the achievements of Richard Stanley, or Rich, as he was affably referred to by his peers and colleagues. He leaves his wife and 3 children behind.

Makes me wonder....so what if you worked hard and get to the top...money cant buy happiness, lest good health. So why are people of our society slogging their guts out, comparing on the qualification one has, the paycheck you bring back from work, the bags one carry, the latest apparels from Milan or Paris, the car you drive.

Life is too short for that. Some may disagree with me, saying that I'm able to write this because i'm comfortably better off than most, but i beg to differ. Everyone has their own worries and problems, be it the rich or poor.

I do admit that I get pissed whenever I have to think twice when I wanna get something due to financial constraints. Who doesn't? A $1000 bag may bother me, but a 5 million jet plane may bother a millionaire just as much. (does jet planes cost this much or more?)

Be contented with what you currently have now..its normal to have regrets, but don't live in them. treasure and cherish your close ones and most importantly, do not be afraid to love...

okie it's close to 1am and i cant believe i;m writing all this crap when I should be doing my work or getting some shuteye before another long day tml.

other than work, i've been procrastinating on almost every other aspect of my life.

my room is in the worst state since i've moved in
my chair and bed had become my second and third wardrobe
almost 1/2 of walkable space in my room are currently occupied by my clutter

imagine that.. i don't even have the mood to go out or organise anything. that's how bad i;ve become.

speaking of organising, i've grew tired of that. taking a backseat and will wait to see what happens.
work's is just like a time bomb. i have no freaking idea when it will be my turn to leave. such uncertainty in bad times, its not within my control, so i'll just let it bother me, but not too much

and of course, what will be complete without boys' problem

i'm sort of dating this guy currently, who happens to be a good friend of mine. hmm let's see how many i've dated in the past who were friends..i think he's most prob the first.

it isn't extreme to say that we are both from different worlds, in almost every possible way,
despite that, the sparks were there and there were lots of laughters and fun

came the thin fine line of friendship and dating
which part we were threading on, both were pretty clear
but then, came the even thinner and finer line of dating and relationship
which part we were threading on, both weren't very clear,
to make it worst, both were on the wrong ends at different points of time

communication were alright, but bad when it comes to things that matters- refusing and sometimes, no idea on how to express

and i guess the part which hurts me the most is to realise that underneath it all, he is just like any other guys.

two funerals in a week is enough to get your sprits down.
funerals alway bring back too many unpleasant feelings, memories and also, the sad fact that we will eventually say goodbye to our loved ones in time to come.

Which got me thinking...

I rather be selfish and die before my loved ones... and inflict the pain on them instead. I felt quite bad that this actually crossed my mind..

I rather distance myself from my loved ones, so when its time to say goodbye, it won't be that hard. This is rather impossible, knowing me.

And the latter is somehow related to relationships

Why get involve when you know it will end one day? Be it a breakup, or passing on? Isn't it harder when you get attached to a particular person or a thing (trust me, I totally am able to comprehend both) and to lose it after?

On the other hand, one may argue that even if it is meant to end, the process that you go through - the memories created, the happiness once present, the lessons (if any) learnt that mould you into a better person.... is priceless. But how many priceless but void memories you want to collect during your lifetime?

So at the end of the day, it boils down to whether the things gained from the process is worth the hurt, tears, anger and sadness felt when the curtains falls.

i may be dying soon. had difficulty breathing , chest seems to contract n feels so tight. cough has been here 4 a couple of months. suspected lung infection or asthma. given 2nd round of medicine that caused my heart to beat faster n hands to tremble. asked to get a xray done. been drowsy n strengthless for a week.

i wonder if its due to medication..
or the absence of alcohol?

I think I’m hitting another down period. He kept appearing in my mind again since yesterday. And whenever that happens, my heart will sort of take a lurch and it’ll hurt for a moment before my mind feels the emotional pain as well. As it is, there’s usually a trigger to everything..and what triggered this was probably the conversation we had on msn few nights back.

We all have our moments of weakness. I managed to suppress them but sort of gave in to one. We chatted for a bit and against my better judgment; I asked what he did for vday. It’s like walking beyond safety barriers or strolling into a lion’s den, hoping that the lions inside have already had their fill.

He replied that he was out with a female friend. Well, I don’t really have to say more do I? The rest are rather self explanatory. I always knew that I have to move on from this r/s but I guess being stubborn by nature, I still believe(d) that what we had was much stronger to withstand this misunderstanding. Let’s see how much more shit I have to take from him before I’ll succumb my stubbornness to reality.

funny how things are sometimes.

the past 8 years, i was attached during vday, with different guys. (you can count last year as attached too, though at that point me n paul wasn't officially together)

4 different guys over 8 years, 8 possible vdays

can only remember one of the vday that left an impact, though not that all distinct..rest were horrible or just any other day

ultimately, i had the best vday in my life last night.

the irony of it ya?

how good was it?

all i can say is that it was sooo good that it stretched over 2 days. (or u can even say 3)

and the next guy will have a hard time topping this one

Life has certainly been going on for me.. despite afew weeks back.. when everything seemed to stopped for a moment after the breakup.

I have to admit that I felt terrible back then, when reality started sinking in and he kept appearing in my dreams. The countless no more having him around, no more someone to go back to after work, no more of our planned future and dreams, no more of his laughter, hugs nor reassurance. The ‘no more’ period was one of the worst i guess..moreover it was close to the festive period and I was having pms.

But I;ve gone through this shit before back in Perth. Somehow, I recovered much faster than I did back then. Maybe it’s because this is the 2nd time, or maybe because this time I’m home with my family and friends, or maybe this time I have no more excuses for him.

Many asked the reason behind the breakup. I wouldn’t say if the reason is justifiable or not, it varies with individual. To me, it’s simple. If you’ve planned your future with ur other half and know that he’s the one for me, I would at least try to work things out. But these things require two parties. Since he is unwilling, there’s no more reason for me to waste my time and youth.

I’ve loved, lost, grieved, and of course, learnt. Sometime, it’s all this emotions that make us humans. I can’t say if I’ve moved on, but I’m getting more and more used to not having someone by my side these days. Being in a relationship for almost 8 years is somewhat tiring and I’m enjoying the single’s life now. Not that all my ex boyfriends controlled my freedom, to think of it, most of them let me do what I wanted. But this time is different. I have more time for my family, friends and myself. I find myself being so busy these days that I wonder how I managed to fit in having a bf back then.

Sometime last week I was at Yahoo CNY luncheon. They had several booths set up. One of them was a palmistry reader. Me & my colleagues went for it and he commented on my:

- you used to be cautious but now you are rather impulsive
- you are suited working with people
- you are strong in character and your success will be dependent on yourself
- you will get bogged down by family problems
- you will have a good life after marriage (which I asked: when?)
- (which he replied) probably your 3rd or 4th relationship

which I immediately exclaimed ‘ I just ended my 4th relationship! Does that mean that I will nv get married????’

which pretty amused everyone around me.

Prior to the previous post.. I met up with him shortly after our breakup. He didn't give me any chance to speak when he initated the break, saying that we would have to meet another day after he has cooldown.

Just as I'd suspected, the real reason for meeting up again was just to get back his stuff from me. He gave me sometime to 'express' myself, note the used of word. His mind was already set and as stubborn as he has always been, he refused to listen, let alone talk. I might as well talk to a wall.

Since now it's really and truly over, I have decided to move on to the next phase of my life. It hurts badly.. but i've been through this shit once in Perth, and somehow, it seems much more bearable this time round.

I've been keeping myself busy ever since we talked and hey, it's not too bad after all. of course i missed the times we had spent together, be it aimlessly surfing the internet, watching random youtube clips, catching a quick espd of friends, seeking comfort in his arms and words. I would go to the extend and say that I really love and gave up a lot for a chance to be together but only to realised how unstable he was as a partner.

That's how love goes. I hurt some, get hurt by some.

but that's not the end. i'll pick myself up and move on ahead.

breaking up

breaking up is never easy. especially if you're not the one initiating it.

Whether I went back to the state I was when in perth few months back, is still uncertain...

I lost my appetite, literally. i'm sure i've lost couple of pounds within few days.. but i'm not starving myself...and i always make sure i eat before drinking any alcohol. .

its really hard to cope, someone who u thought u could spend your life with just end it with a snap of his fingers, as though he was making a decision to drink coffee or tea. whatever we had, those that i held in uttermost importance, treasured and cherished were just like a puff of smoke, blown away with every puff from a smoker's mouth.

it's really a pity. it really breaks my heart. i'm not really good with words, but sometimes the feeling inside is so terrible that i could just break down in the middle of nowhere... walking past the substation...buying lunch...on the way home...

but just when you are thinking that i;m wallowing in my own self pity, i'm not.

just when you are thinking that i'm detached and shattered to bits, i'm not

at the end of the day. i know that i'll always be blessed with love... simply because i know how and am not afraid to love. I don't retreat into my shell to avoid everything.. and most importantly, i know how to cherish the ones who are important to me. I don't say it, I show it.

happy 2009 to everyone out there.

kinda neglected this blog, with the recent hype over facebook.. but anyway, now i;m back and with a few updates

work's still going good.. can feel the things piling up and kinda glad, after days of loafing. now that the festive seasons are over, i cant really wait to get back to work

i was making my resolutions for 2009 over the past few days.. And since I do it almost every year... for 2009, i resolve to...

1) get my driving license

2) get my braces off

3) get promoted

4) save up to 5 digits

5) keep this site going

6) room makeover

7) exercise at least 1-2 times a week

8) complete 1/4 marathon

9) pick up cantonese

9 resolutions for 2009

i prob should include 'cut down on my drinking' but maybe i leave that for next year

and i guess here is better than facebook in a way. not that 'open'

i certainly wouldn't write this whole chunk over there.

and i'm off to clear the mess on my floor and get down to work.

Today marks the first week of my work in ZOM.
I have been looking for a job since oct, but havent been updating much cos there was this joke on jas that i'll be working in perth (its all complicated).
Anyway ya, so i went for several interviews, was offered 3 positions by different companies, and was lucky enough that one of them was a media company, an industry i've always been keen on joining since uni days.

Up to now, things have been pretty slack. The first few days had me flipping magazines and newspapers. I had to ask for training materials from my colleagues to keep myself occupied. I know i will regret typing this, but i hope work will start coming in soon!

Besides the new job, for the month of nov and half of dec, i've been helping dajie with her wedding, from her hen's night to the wedding dinner..tons of photos had been taken, unsorted and posted. Both the ceremony and wedding dinner was great, and i judged that by the happiness and joy present in every single member of the family, and friends (those that i know). The newlyweds are currently off with their honeymoon in Japan, no doubt having great fun while 3 others waiting back excitedly for their return in Singapore.(okie, we got them to get some stuff from japan)

And most of my friends from Perth are back in Singapore. But sadly, 3 VIPS will be staying in Perth for the holidays. One doing his attachment, one stuck because he have to comply with the driving license rules and the other i haven't talked to for sometime, but should have finished her honours by now. I miss u guys terribly, and if not for the horrendous price tagged to the return ticket from Perth to Sg, I would have booked tickets over and spend christmas there.

Christmas is coming and sadly, i have not caught the festive spirit (yet?) My company will be closed for the holidays and visions of taking a short holiday over the xmas or new year period can't seem to visualise due to my financial debts and such. If my pay comes before xmas.. there might be some festive cheer after all

And before i end... i suddenly missed dwijin's cooking.. a lot!

We were suppose to go to the b&j chunk fest yesterday but the weather had other plans for us. Shuqi came along, looking forward to ice cream since morning, waiting patiently for me to wake up.

A Sweet Surrender

A day filled with happiness, tears and joy. Feelings were so intense throughout the entire day. It certainly was for me, seeing someone i know all my life, a cousin closer than cousin, the sister i never had, saying 'i do' to someone whom I know she can trust, rely, love and be loved for the rest of her life.

Shaoquan's Graduation

Last Wednesday was Shaoquan's graduation. It was held at Raffles convention hall. And despite being on this sunny humid island for close to 23 years, it took me a while to realize that it was linked to Raffles City and to find the linkage to the hall.

they have the usual academic staff march-in and settling down in their seats.

and yeah they had light refreshment after the ceremony and all..it was rather grand... but of course, it can never beat the evenly carpeted green lawn, with the picturesque clock tower in the backdrop..only @ uwa

Last night, we had a discussion over at da jie's place..
Almost all of us turned up, and we had a potluck dinner.

da jie had everything prepared.

the dresses are ready! I can still remember the time we went down to katong to make my measurements. hope i have not put on any weight since..99

everyone was involved, giving suggestions and such.. except for yours truly, who was writhing in agony on the couch, making uncountable trips to the loo.

i brought my dress back.
i'm going try it soon. once i can get up and walk 5 meters on my own.

but worst of all, i cant eat... whenever i put something into my mouth, my stomach will start churning and i'll feel like vomiting.
i prob have less then 1 bowl-full of porridge and half slice of bread for 2 day

i;ve seen the doc twice, had injection but doesn't help.

both the docs i;ve been too said it may be due to appendicitis.

i hope it's just some stomach flu or something else

When I was little, i had no idea how to pronounce the words to address my aunt, i was only able to make out two words sounding like 'ohm mi' so it stuck with her and all my cousins call her that ever since

Some of us turned up the next day for a belated lunch celebration at this new place call 'pu tien' (i hope i got it right, chinese sucks) @ tampines mall basement

they do serve pig's intestines... but from the look of daron's face... we all know what's really going through in his mind...

but i have to say that the pork + onion wrapped in the deep fried bun was fantastic!

I finally graduated on the 9th of Sept 2008

A big thanks to everyone who came, to my brothers and ian for painstakingly sitting through the entireceremony and to fen for patrick star!

i was kinda disappointed that my family didnt attend (the adults) esp when i see other mums helping their daughters pinning their attires in place while mine keep coming off every 5 mins. well at least i had ian, helping me taped everything in place (but it fell off eventually =\ ) and helping me put the whole gown on correctly.

I set off to uni early in the morning to collect my gown and headed back to dress up..

My 23rd Birthday

This year, my 23rd birthday celebration kicked off with dinner at Asia Grand Restaurant. Cosuins sophie, marie, jo + nick came.

one of my personal fav. how can one say no to peking duck?

everywhere else was packed, so we found this little pub, home to newcastle united fans

and a little after, we hopped to timber.

mab sent me home (not that im drunk or anything) but well, the next day i got a pretty bad headache and i have to meet the others at NTUC to grab the groceries for the party.

i was feeling so groggy that paul had to constantly give me support

while i went home to change. the others helped with the food preparation while harris, as usual, was the chef for the day

It's daddy birthday once again (3weeksback),

as usual, headed down to chimes (katong, not the one at cityhall)- parents fav hangout and celebrated the night with him

mum, bro, daron n me took a cab down first to have our dinner while dad and his colleagues enjoy a jap dinner.

but we didnt do that bad either..katong laksa can never go wrong

dad opened a bottle, but i stayed away from it (stuck to beer instead)

I was home for the evening and had an urge to bake...

the girls were home that night, and i invited them over to join me..

gave them a few choices and they got really excited over the rainbow sprinkles, so brownie it was!

paul dropped over after work, and as tired he was, the girls didn't let him off and got him to 'supervise' them while i tend the oven

which proved to be a bad decision, letting them out of my sight. like 3 little kids (2 genuine at least) having a great time, happily licking off the batter instead! supervision...ya right. he was pointing to the spots with batter on!

all i can say is, thankfully it was not paul who got carried away.

ever since i came back from perth, i've been spending quite a bit of time with my brothers...
and i can say that i really enjoyed almost every minute with them

nick with his neverending jokes

and photowhore daron when he had a little too much to drink..

it started with a desire to have jap food. rounded up the guys, paul and mab

daron said okie, but only after he collect his precious....more about that later

me, paul, mab & mum needed stamps at that moment

sat night. everywhere was bloody PACKED. the jap place @ stadium was full, sakae was full, tepanyaki was full, cafe cartel was full... what the....

ended up @ fish & co

i'm not a fan of mussels... but the sauce... is really outoftheworld

something that i couldn't eat at that moment.... due to my cough

had to settle for this, which seems least damaging.. but didnt help as paul kept shoving his fried fish onto my plate -_-

and ya, missed the prawns as well

mab obviously wasn;t veryhappy with her order, swordfish something..

yeah but it was darn filling... everyone was bloated

2 weddings

i'm so excited for them! now i have two weddings to attend in december-

- mindy's(affectionately known as da jie ever since i could talk) and weihao ( I have 2 weihao in my contacts, so he was wei hao (tennis) hah! cause he and da jie used to play tennis over at my place every sat)

The engagement sort of came as a surprise- i was kinda expecting the two of them to settle down eventually, but everyone (at least for me!) didn't see it coming so soon!

i hope they don't mind but...

da jie looks absolutely stunning here..even her usually flabby arms(long standing joke betwen us) SEEM toned and slim ;)

for as long as i can remember, da jie was the 'small' one in the family, or rather the petite one in the family, and i was the taller one, bigger size, big boned, or whatever excuse u can come up with for my frame -_-

And i'm (almost)perfectly fine with my height and built, except for one very important point that being the size that i currently am or if i grow any fatter, how is my future husband going carry me on our wedding day? or for such photos like this?

and we are not just talking about flat ground or grasses....i was thinking of scaling the pyramids

yea, they look great together.

hmm, i still recall around 6 months back, me and paul was out shopping happily at taka, excitedly debating if we should have western or ayam penyat for dinner, when we bumped into weihao, who looked a little out of breathe and with this grin on his face(and we thought he was happy to see us!) told us he was meeting da jie one level down, and we parted briefly.

I found out from him much later that, that was the day he bought the diamond ringgg!

oh and we had ayam penyat in the end, just in case you are wondering

4 more months to their wedding, i have to go get my measurements done tml for the dress and i feel like an elephant now! with the weight i've put on (i did mention earlier that i was only 'almost perfectly' fine with my size), i decided that i will ask them to take an inch off my measurements, that will motivate me to lose those flab-else no dress on that day, and i have to go in my old, worn out, moth eaten dress.. sigh..i wouldn't want that, my family wouldn't want that, dajie wouldn't want that as well.

oh and the other wedding in dec:

i can still recall jordan telling me about his plan to propose just before i left for perth.
and now, they are getting married! they have applied for a flat, date set, signed up a wedding package (though he still have not propose!)

this is the season to get married (or at least apply for a flat) lalalalallala

we are getting old (pluck my first WHITE hair and the second came shortly)

i can't wait to tie the knot...in 4-5 years time, its all very good to plan, but u'll never know when the right one comes along and till then, i'll enjoy singlehood to the fullest

mum has been playing mahjong almost EVERYDAY

I've been back for almost three and a half weeks.
and my cousin just asked me a couple of minutes back
'what have i been up to'

and i can't really think of an answer.

let's recall...

got hit by bug the day after i touchdown. was feeling pretty terrible coughing my dear life away (those who met me could comprehend ya?) and this lasted all the way till....today? yeah though im way much better, but a cough or two still occasionally escape my throat. all thanks to my stubbornness- refused to see a doctor, paul had to dragged me to the pharmacist and well, one min i was taking my two tablespoon of cough syrup and the next moment, i was eating nasi lemak. no surprise why i;m still coughing.

okie, and i fell.
me: hey paul, what's 2000*1.282 (something like that)
paul: *calculating*
me: *tripped*
paul: 2564... ...................

but it's all good. i'm rather proud of myself. i was clutching my laptop tightly and it's completely safe :) and i only injured my right knee cap. face, hands and left leg without a scratch. pretty good ya? just bled a little so its not that bad

In a rare moment, these two girls were happy on their own, while i was getting ready for the day ahead. they were laughing and giggling throughout, but in my rush, i didnt pay much attention to them.

Around 3 weeks back right after I changed my return ticket, I immediately rang up my hairdresser and made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. My hair was so long that the first thing i wanted to do is get it fixed upon stepping on sg soil.

and mab was like, offering to get me breakfast the day after i got back and hang out a little before she starts work. But ya, as usual, some things never change and she overslept.

well, at least we got to hang out a bit and got some photos down

met shaoquan for coffee before my hair appointment.. he actually waited for me through the hour + appointment

Everything took place about a week back. It all started on a bright early saturday morning. After a thunderstorm the day before, I was really glad that the sun is up and glaring as this is the last day i had to do my laundry. And Ian should be really honored to be the first person whom I did laundry for.

Was supposed to pack my stuff but after lunch and all, things got kinda fuzzy and before i knew, bazz & dwijin came knocking at my door and were kinda 'horrified' that i havent get much packing done. So they transformed into 2 fast-efficient packing machines and made me pack before we leave for dinner. stressed i tell u, worse than exams.

i wasn't drunk, but i wasnt sober as well. and puking from all the alcohol. the guys sent me back home, let me sleep for an hour, dragged me up and made me finish packing my stuff. they drove to get breakfast as well. and they didnt even sleep a wink the entire night, afraid that if they did, no one will wake up and i will miss my flight.

Ian woke up shortly (sorry we made so much noise and woke u up) and sent me to the airport

he had to drive all the way back again, cause i forgot my laptop =\

i'm currently staying at my friend's place..yep, i;ve moved and no longer staying @ nedlands

coming from a guy who usually only wear a single layer of clothes during winter.

i was freezing the first 2 days, but i'm sort of immune to it now, in fact i'm enjoying it, i'm so not looking forward to the weather in singapore.

oh, the internet connection is a little unstable here (or rather my mac, cosian's laptops are both working fine) so i'm like constantly signing in and out of msn, cant really upload photos nor check my emails. err, if there's anything urgent, ring or text me.

felt grumpy and tired again due to the lack of sleep...BUT my excitement for the finals made up for everything

met xiuxian in the early noon and we had japanese for lunch. headed back to my place for a baking session. she will be leaving for sg later today, and i'm going miss her too...
was telling bazz that i get pretty upset with each goodbye (first nicky, trudy, arm then xiuxian, joel and vern argh too many)

this time round, we set off to burswood much earlier hoping to get good seats.. well the sofa were taken but at least we have a table.

27th June 2008 3.45pm marks the end of my uni life and the start of my freedom!

Arm came to uni and we went for dinner before heading back to my place for predrinks. Mumtash joined us shortly after.

missing arm already! he flew back to thailand early this morning

me and mumtash caught the bus to the city and made our way to northbridge
slight miscommunication between mustang bar and belgium beer bar, but we ended up at mustang bar despite the absence of ID for bazz! ;)

the band's great. plently of rock music

there were tv all around the pub, tennis, surfing, rugby, skateboarding.. u name it, they were showing.wondering if they will ever show a soccer match. they did, just as we were about to leave..and guess what? replay of Italy vs Spain. totally in my face -_-

the last paper is tomorrow
and once again, i live up to my usual expectations of cramming at the very last moment.
it doesn't help that i went out for dinner and drinks till midnight the previous day and slept till arvo today.
damn, but its all good fun last night
caught up with nat, who will be flying off tomorrow (just when i attain my freedom!)
met a few new people as well, so it went pretty alright (anything beats studying hey)

I think I created a record this semester - the most number of sundays spent in uni

spent an antagonizing 9 hours studying in uni today
and i'm going continue the same routine tomorrow

and i'm really glad that terence companied me throughout the whole day
and tomorrow, as well as tue (if i;m able to wake him up)
I hereby declare him as my study partner for this semester, together with Arm.

but terence commented that he would rather be known as the guy who bought me drinks at metro..or the one who try to get me down a shot of 151 (though we both agreed that it sucks)

and boy are we going celebrate after the exams.
haha drinks are fine mate, but leave the guys out this time round
and we are going to catch the euro 2008 on his 42inch plasma!

on a different note,
though it's been only a short while since we last contacted,
i missed u terribly

and what's with Italy again! found out shortly after my exams that they drew 1-1 with romania. wth.... seriously, they better get their act together and whack Frances' asses the next game else they be out of euro2008 and what's the point watching the finals if they aren't in it? crap

all here's good except for the lack of soccer. called bro before dinner and had a chat with him about soccer to keep my sanity. just like the past, we were debating whether to buy draw-home, draw-away etc what's missing is a copy of newpaper, which has all the odds and fixtures. we would dutifully pour over the entire page and make serious analysis but half the time ended up useless cos both of us were too lazy to go and place our bets.

i'm off for a hot shower and time to hit the books once more.

okie here's a one min rant before i get back to studying

after 2 days of studying for my upcoming human resource management exams, i'm extremely puzzled.
WHAT"S WITH HR?
omg, thank god i didn't major in it
cause the WHOLE context of it is contradicting!
i'm so fucking pissed with it
grrrr feel like tearing the textbook into two and shred them into waste paper to lie angel's litter bin (if she has one)
hey the lecturer's good,
but i can't same the same for the choice of textbook
it's probably the WORST textbook i ever seen. its filled with multiple citing from other authors and their theories.
more of a compilation! it is thick (thats alright) and has BEETLES imprinted everywhere.
of all... beetles? what the hell.. i'm not kidding you
and it doesn't link to the lecture notes.
this is the 1098th time i wondered to myself WHY did i choose HR as my elective. shucks, frankly, to my opinion, from what i;ve studied, HR personnel should just take a seat back and outsource the entire scope to 3rd parties. seriously, all this alignment of HR policies to organizational strategy is a pile of trash.

ok, i can't think of anything else to vent my frustration, so this is the end of my rant.

the day started off great
with a sweet morning call.
it dampened slightly,
when it rained just as i was about to step out of the house.
trudged my way to uni and
made myself comfortable at a little corner.
unlike the past 2 days,

it may be due to the fact that i;m doing HR today instead of marketing,
or cos i felt a little sluggish, or both
its only after a few hours, then i realised
it's that time of the month again.
knowing that i cant get any more work done
i headed back home,
prepared a hot water bottle
slipped into my sleeping wear
and got into bed,
awaiting the cramps that will soon pop by for a visit
i'll say, what a time to visit,
2 days before my exams
no wonder i'm feeling a little blue now
i've long given up trying to fight with it,
i'll figure that everyone should have a little down time.

can't wait for us both to be back home

Iphone in Singapore

Singtel has confirmed that it will be launching the IPhone 3G nearly a year after it burst onto the American market.

It's kinda expected isn't it? that steve will introduce a new version of IPhone at the WWDC
Well, as someone who have bought the first generation of IPhone, of course i felt a little cheated that they introduce the next generation so soon. But if it's any consolation, i don't really use 3G (the only time i used was when da jie 3G me while attending xiao zhu's concert hah!).

And i don't foresee me using 3G in the near future, even if all my other friends and family are on a 3G phone.
Imagine this:

Like we see each other almost everyday already, I will get sick of him and vice versa! (unless i'm in SG and he's in Australia, but i;m not really certain about the overseas charges for 3G and hey, what's skype and msn for?)

i'm more bothered by the fact that every other tom dick & harry will be carrying an IPhone.

I had great fun with my Iphone for the past 8 months, maybe i should start looking for another phone.
then again, maybe not.

One fine day, melis had a project meeting @ Reid Library.

After the meeting, someone came along and gave her motivation to continue her work in the library. Surprisingly, she said okie and went on with her work

instead of minding one's own business, someone came up with a whole portfolio of my studying photos and declare it as " melis' studying expressions". it was also stressed that this is pretty much one of the last times where one can see me hard at work, which makes this whole portfolio all the more important.

Cousin, i seriously can't wait!

We have been cousins for almost 23 years, but the thing is we only see each other like once or twice a year during Chinese New Year (some years i don't even get to see them!), and yes, at funerals.
